Set in over 120 acres of beautiful landscaped parkland, the privately owned house and grounds at Waresley Park are the perfect setting for celebrations. This impressive marquee wedding venue, boasts multiple picturesque spots for ceremonies and receptions, including stunning formal gardens, enchanting woodlands and picturesque parkland.
Address; Waresley Park, Gamlingay Road, Waresley, Sandy, Bedfordshire SG19 3DD
Nestled in the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire countryside, Waresley Park is a quiet oasis, conveniently located in easy distance to London and other major cities. Surrounded by picturesque villages, and just a stone’s throw from historic Cambridge, there are ample country pubs and boutique hotels nearby that can provide accommodation.
Steeped in history and natural beauty, the park offers a wonderfully flexible approach to wedding celebrations. The grand spanning estate means that the venue is perfectly equipped for larger celebrations, but with tranquil corners in abundance, it is also just as well versed for smaller, more intimate gatherings.
Waresley Park Estate is managed and coordinated by Hall & Co. Event Design. With a wealth of experience, the Hall & Co. team are on hand to ensure every detail is considered and everything runs smoothly.
There are countless outdoor locations to hold celebrant-led, humanist ceremonies, including under the grand temple, on the lawn, under the 100-year-old oak tree, or beside the lake. Locally there are also options for religious ceremonies of all denominations, including the picturesque St James the Great church, situated in the nearby village of Waresley.
The venue is not currently licensed for civil ceremonies, however, plans are in place to achieve a license for 2022.
After saying the all-important “I do’s”, it’s time to relax and enjoy all that the estate has to offer, with countless locations that guests can utilise during wedding receptions. Following the ceremony, a glass of champagne, canapés or perhaps a cocktail or two, can be enjoyed on one of the perfectly manicured lawns, or within the walled garden.
After the drinks reception it’s time to enjoy the wedding breakfast in a purpose-built structure. Built exclusively by one of our recommended suppliers, with options of a traditional pole and canvas marquee, or perhaps a tipi? We have several beautiful spots for structures, including lakeside, and picturesque garden settings. The options are endless and completely customisable.
We offer a corkage free service and allow couples to bring their own drinks, to be served by the caterers and bar staff. Celebrations finish by midnight, with loud music stopping slightly prior to this.
Our completely flexible approach to planning and the extensive grounds mean that Waresley Park is perfectly equipped for wedding weekends and elongated celebrations. We suggest couples extend the exclusive hire period and spreading celebrations over several days by staying for the weekend and building their own bell tent village on site. With plenty of spots to host a rehearsal dinner or post wedding brunch.
When selecting suppliers, we ask that couples choose caterers and marquee suppliers from our carefully curated list, as they fully understand the venue and are well served to provide the best service. For any other suppliers, the team at Hall & Co. are on hand to provide any recommendations needed, and couples also remain free to choose whoever they would like.
Our calendar is open from May to the end of September, to enjoy the estate at its best and throughout most of the seasons. We have limited availability to ensure complete flexibility and exclusivity to our couples.
We have a large bridal prep suite which is available for our couples.
We don’t currently have prebuilt onsite accommodation, but couples are able to hire additional space so that may build a bell tent village. We can assist you with coordinating the set-up of a bell tent or another glamping style village on the grounds.
We have a capacity of 150 for our main marquee site, but can accommodate more guests at other locations and for evening celebration.
Typically, access to the venue is from 11am on the Friday to 3pm on the following Sunday, though we offer a flexible approach and are happy to look at and extend the hire period dependent on specific requirements.
We have a purpose-built car park for around 60 cars, and a gravel area for coaches. Vehicles left on site overnight are at the owner’s risk and are to be collected before 3pm on the final day of the hire period.
Fireworks & Chinese Lanterns are prohibited; however, we do offer a project mapping display service on the main house.
We don’t provide toilets, however, either the chosen marquee company or our team can arrange these. There is a tap available to use near the main marquee site.
Only fresh or dried petals confetti is allowed.
There will be a 32amp supply available to use, however we would recommend hiring a generator to suit specific power requirements. Our planning team can help coordinate this.
The house and grounds at Waresley Park are also available to be hired for corporate events.
